About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Backend Engineer to join our growing engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable backend systems that power our innovative products. You will work with a talented team of engineers, product managers, and designers to deliver high-quality software solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and deploy robust and scalable backend services using Python and Django.
  • Build and maintain APIs for internal and external consumption.
  • Optimize application performance and database queries for a large-scale application.
  • Collaborate with frontend engineers to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic.
  • Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines using Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Work with cloud services on AWS (e.g., EC2, S3, RDS).
  • Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code.
  • Participate in code reviews and mentor junior engineers.
  • Troubleshoot and debug production issues.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5+ years of professional experience in backend development.
  • Strong proficiency in Python and the Django framework.
  • Extensive experience with relational databases, particularly PostgreSQL.
  • Experience with caching technologies like Redis.
  • Familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes).
  • Proven experience with cloud platforms, preferably AWS.
  • Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.
  • Strong understanding of software development best practices, including version control (Git).
  • Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs.

Bonus Points

  • Experience with other programming languages or frameworks.
  • Familiarity with microservices architecture.
  • Experience with message queues (e.g., RabbitMQ, Kafka).
  • Contributions to open-source projects.
