We’ve raised $5.6m+ from Amplify Partners and an amazing group of angels from Anthropic, OpenAI, and more. Now we’re looking for a small group of gritty, fast-learning engineers to help invent this new layer of the stack.

We’ve recently raised our seed round from incredible investors (to be announced). Now we’re looking for a small group of gritty, fast-learning engineers to help invent this new layer of the stack.
About the role
You’ll own how Pointer feels — to our customers, to their users, and to us. You’ll spend your days building the pieces people touch, from the in-app cursor experience to our customer dashboard. Your job is to make Pointer feel instant, native, and magical.
This is a role for an engineer with taste. Someone who cares about UI polish, micro-interactions, and the performance of every click. You’ll be sitting at the intersection of design and engineering, constantly asking: how do we make this so good that no one ever thinks about it?

Pointer is the first layer of software users actually notice. It sits right inside the apps they use every day. You’ll be exploring topics like:
- Making Pointer run smoothly for every type of user, across browsers, devices, and spotty Wi-Fi speeds
- Shipping code that loads instantly and never slows down the host app
- Ensuring Pointer can drop into any app with minimal developer work, regardless of frontend framework or product complexity
- Crafting UX and micro-interactions so Pointer feels like it’s native to the product, not sitting on top of it
- Designing the right abstractions so customers can configure as much or as little as they want
What you’ll work on
- Building our SDK and frontend surfaces that run inside other companies’ apps
- Creating and refining Pointer’s dashboard where customers configure guidance, view analytics, and measure ROI
- Tuning every interaction for speed and responsiveness
- Invent new UI patterns for how users interact with guidance and automation inside apps
- Shipping end-to-end experiences, from spec to production to polish
You’ll be a good fit if
- You’re full-stack and fast: React, TypeScript, Node/Express, PostgreSQL, Redis, Vite, Socket.io
- You have strong design taste (experience with Figma, design systems, UX principles)
- You thrive on ownership: you want to spec, build, ship, and demo what you create
- You’re excited to work in-person in SF with a tight, ambitious team
- You have deep experience with browser and web internals
